Travel Trailer and Mobile Home Maintenance

There are approximately 2200 occupied travel trailers (TT) and 1000 occupied mobile homes (MH) throughout the state of Mississippi that are expected to require maintenance. These numbers will decrease during the period of performance; however, the contractor may be required to perform maintenance on up to 50 additional MH which may be newly installed or relocated within the service area at various times. The anticipated rate of maintenance calls for service in a given week is 125.
Maintenance services consist of providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week service, a toll-free number available to FEMA, responding to maintenance calls provided by FEMA, inspecting and documenting damage/malfunction, performing repairs, testing of repairs, and documenting conditions when complete. In addition, the Contractor is to perform a seasonal inspection and maintenance service for all housing units, once each for the heating and cooling season.
Repairs may consist of, but are not limited to, inspecting damage and determining the proper corrective action needed, making structural repairs to the unit, repairing/replacing non-functional systems/appliances, replacing filters, unclogging drains, replacing/repairing support structures outside of the unit, repairing/replacing steps and ramps, and replacing/repairing utility connections.
The contract base period of performance will be November 1, 2008, through March 31, 2009. The period of performance may be extended for four (4) additional six (6) month option periods.
The Government intends to award a single Firm Fixed-Price, Indefinite Quantity contract. This acquisition is a total small business set-aside to Mississippi vendors, as authorized by the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act (PL 100-707) of November 1988.
